The Diary of a Nobody

Finding courage

26 in a fix,

She moved to chase her dreams

Little did she know

It wasn't as easy as it seemed

"I'll study, I'll work, and climb up," she thought

Little did she know

It would take a lot more than that

She would lay, try to sleep

Rolling through the sheets

Little did she know

She had to thrive to just be

In this foreign land,

A land full of unknowns

It wasn't just opportunities

It had its highs and lows

"I will get through this no matter what!" she thought

Little did she know

It was slowly tearing her apart

This happens, she said, stood tall and led

Through all the pains of this foreign land

All by herself

She's not the kind of girl

You would randomly find

She was not coal but a diamond,

So very fine

Not her beauty

Or the shape of her body

But the wisdom and knowledge she gathered

Oh so mighty!
